The volume carries a detailed introduction to the socio-historical background of the age and its literature.

Pramod K Nayar is a faculty member at the Department of English, University of Hyderabad. He has published very widely on literatures in English, colonial and postcolonial literature, history of literature, cultural theory, cybercultures and discourse analysis.
