Genre, Text, Grammar is a comprehensive reference text that examines how the three aspects of language (genre, text, grammar) can be used as resources in teaching and assessing writing. Peter Knapp is Director of Educational Assessment, Australia and Associate Professor at the School of Education, University of New South Wales. He has worked in literacy education for many years and has written a range of books, articles and teaching materials on teaching and assessing writing.

Megan Watkins is a Lecturer in Education at the University of Western Sydney. She has written a number of articles and curriculum materials on genre theory and literacy pedagogy.
