Bharat mein Upniveshvaad is a syllabus based undergraduate textbook for the ‘Colonialism in India’ paper [Bharat mein Upniveshvad paper] of University of Delhi. This is one of the papers of the First Semester of Discipline course of Four year BA Program of Delhi University. Maximum marks for this paper is 100.

The book discusses the colonial past of India, the importance and relevance of understanding this past, which is in fact the roots of many political institutions and ideas; social and economic structures which are the central politics in India today traced back to this past. The book is divided into six units: 1.Imperialism and colonialism; 2. Foundations of colonial rule in India; 3. Economy and society; 4. Culture and society; 5. Education; and  
6. Early Indian response.

The book is appended with all the relevant information of colonialism in India in chronological order as a ready reckoner.
