Vasant Saberwal is a free-lance environmental researcher and film-maker based in Delhi, with interests in ecology, environmental politics and the sociology of science. He is working on a film series on the political economy of water in India. His publications include Pastoral Politics(1998) and, with Mahesh Rangarajan and Ashish Kothari, People, Parks and Wildlife: Towards Co-existence, (Orient Blackswan, 2000).
Mahesh Rangarajan is an independent researcher. His books include India's Wildlife History, An Introduction (Permanent Black, 2001), Fencing the Forest (1996) and an edited collection, The Oxford Anthology of Indian Wildlife (1999). Educated at the universities of Delhi and Oxford, he is also a commentator on political affairs.
