The Book
This collection of one-act plays has been designed as a textbook for the Core Course ENCR 7: Reading Drama for the fifth semester students of the B. A. Programme in English Language and Literature in the various colleges affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. The primary objective of this book is to expose students to the world of one-act plays and to help them develop an interest in the enlightening and entertaining aspects of the theatre. Each play included in this anthology is accompanied by
- a brief sketch of the authors and their works
- a glossary
- comprehension exercises
The collection is unique as it includes one Russian, one British, one American, one Spanish, one Ugandan and one Indian play.
