Charlotte Bronte(1816-1855) was born in Thornton, Yorkshire, England. In 1825, her two elder sisters died of tuberculosis at boarding school and this is reflected in Helen Burn's death in Jane Eyre. In 1847, Wuthering Heights by Emily, Agnes Grey by Anne and Jane Eyre by Charlotte were published to great acclaim. Charlotte published two more novels Shirley (1849) and Vilette (1853). In 1854 she married Arthur Bell Nicholls but died soon after in March, 1855.
