The Author(s)
Dr R Gopalan retired as Head of the Department of Chemistry, Madras Christian College, Chennai. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Madras and went on to do his postdoctoral research at Baylor University, USA. He has 35 years of experience in teaching and research, and was awarded a UGC Emeritus Fellowship on his retirement. He has published 50 research papers, many articles on popular science and education, and 30 books for M.Sc., B.Sc. and school courses. He was the principal investigator for a research project – Chemical Decontamination of Nuclear Reactor Heat Transfer Units – funded by the BRNS, Department of Atomic Energy of India. He served as a member of the committee which helped Sri Ahobila Math establish Sri Malolan College of Arts and Science, Madurantagam, and served as its Honorary Director from 2010 to 2019. He was an honorary board member and also Secretary for a group of Sri Sankara Vidyalayas from 1983 to 2019. He served as a Resource Person from 1995 to 2022 at the UGC Academic Staff College, (HRDC), University of Madras.
Dr A A M Prince is currently Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, Chennai. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from the University of Madras and went on to do his postdoctoral research at the University of Rouen, France on nanostructural cobalt ferrite followed by another at the National Taiwan University, Taiwan on lithium-ion batteries. He has guided five Ph.D. students and published around 30 papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. He has filed an Indian patent and handled one UGC–CSIR project and has 24 years of teaching experience.
