The Critical Thinking in South Asian History series comprises research monographs and edited readers on the colonial and post-colonial history of South Asia. The focus is on the twentieth century and in particular on the period after 1947. The volumes in the series feature academic research on the history of specific regions in South Asia as well as historical work on transnational and interregional themes. The series will be of particular interest to those engaged in historical investigations based on disciplinary and thematic crossovers in relation to neighbouring disciplines such as sociology, social anthropology, political sociology and literary studies. It will also be useful for undergraduate and graduate students.
