This book is one of a series of three books which are the outcome of a project sponsored by British Council and implemented at two universities and two autonomous colleges of science and technology in Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu. The focus in these books is on the communicative and interactive approach to teach the four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. The materials used in this book are materials from the real world of science and technology. Reading, writing, listening and speaking tasks are preceded by pre-reading, pre-writing, pre-listening and pre-speaking tasks.
